SS: The Synchronizing Forces (Chp 3)

Chapter 3

Khushi’s anger was restored back to nervousness as soon as she reached the stage. Trying to forget her much unpleasant encounter with Arnav… No … he’s not Arnav…that name doesn’t suit him at all, she thought. Hmmm…what would she call him...? He’s no less than a Governor… Perfect… She was appreciating herself for finding the perfect name … “Laad Governor!!!!” she yelled happily.

“WHAT?” yelled Mehul who was actually explaining Khushi about what she should be doing when she reaches the stage for one last time. She was taken aback when Khushi yelled ‘Laad Governor’…
“What are you saying Khushi? I’m explaining your moves here, and you’re shouting Lord Governor… Already you’ve created much damage… You’ll be selected only if you perform well… And you’re here not concentrating… Focus, Khushi, FOCUS!”

“Mehul, I won’t bother even if I don’t become an ambassador. For having a boss like him, being no one is better. I prefer being a nobody, than being his ambassador” replied Khushi.

“Khushi, why don’t you see the other way? You can prove you’re more than perfect for his company… That way you can earn your own respect… Now, soon, you’re going in in 10! Long deep breaths… Remember all your steps right?”

Khushi followed whatever Mehul asked her to do and nodded an ‘Yes’… The music started…Khushi let her senses take over… Forgetting everything, she started dancing… Her passion… But one thing was different this time. She couldn’t concentrate properly. She wanted to meet a pair of eyes. Her heart yelled “Search him!” Wait! She mentally stopped herself “Him? Who him?” Her heart replied “Come ‘on don’t act smart…You know who…”  But her brain contradicted “Have you lost it? DON’T search for him… It’s your big day... You’re no way spoiling it!” She tried hard not to look at him. But she could very well sense one thing.

His gaze never left her.

Honking on the horn and making her hair proper the same time, Varsha was losing her calm. She was mentally cursing the traffic. “Why don’t they have proper traffic regulations?” she mused. She looked at her watch, SHE WAS LATE. VERY LATE! “Oh my Gosh! I don’t know what I’m gonna say to Arnav. Oh God, you’re the only one who can save me from Lord Arnav Singh Raizada”

She was wondering how her plan was going to work… She wished Arnav hadn’t bickered with the girl yet. In fact, it was her’s and Anjali’s idea of “Swayamvar for Arnav” named “Ambassador hunt” But Arnav always ends up fighting with every girl who comes in his sight. Well, there are exceptions, she thought. For instance, me.

“Why hasn’t Varsha called and updated me, yet?” Anjali was twisting her fingers in anxiety. “This time too has our idea flopped?” ‘Why is match making for Chotte THIS difficult?’  “Hey Bhagvan! Please please help us!”
